The interpretive center, which is also the Visitors Center for the ACE Basin National Wildlife Sanctuary, has awesome exhibits, including a touch tank for the kids, an interactive replica of a shrimp boat, a full 12-foot long alligator skeleton, a great collection of shells and fossils, and much more. Edisto Beach, South Carolina is one of the few uncommercialized, family-oriented beaches left. The park offers South Carolina's longest system of handicapped accessible hiking and biking trails. Edisto has a mild, pleasant climate with long warm summers and typically mild winters. The park’s environmental education center is a “green” building with exhibits that highlight the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin. According to that ordinance, short term rentals at the beach began on May 8th for reservations made prior to April 21st.
